Pink Philanthropy: Bodacious Bra Challenge
Since the inception of FestiGals, compassion has been one of the cornerstones of the festival’s three-day experience. Through passionate efforts and commitment to the cause, the Bodacious Bras for a Cause Brunch & Bodacious Bra Challenge have become one of the largest fundraising initiatives in the metro New Orleans area for women living with cancer and other ailments.
Diane Lyons, FestiGals founder, created the Bodacious Bras for a Cause fundraiser in 2012. Through her vision and leadership, BBFC has had an incredible community impact raising more than $130,000 to support local charity organizations – particularly those providing meaningful support and services for women in their cancer journey. This year, all funds raised through Bodacious Bras for a Cause will be supporting Breastoration and the Cancer Associations of Greater New Orleans.
So how does the money get raised? Great question, let’s take a look!
There are two ways in which you can join our philanthropy efforts within the community:
The Bodacious Bra Challenge is open to anyone willing to put their creative minds to the test. The contest is simple and gives you the opportunity at not only raising money through your own fundraising page but also lets you craft a potential award winning bra. Tempting right? Here are the 3 steps to join the challenge:
Step 1- Enter the Challenge. Click HERE. Select Join the Challenge and pay the $25 entry fee before 1:00pm CST on May 22, 2017. You will receive a confirmation and a link to your personalized fundraising page.
Step 2- Bedazzle, decorate, or transform a bra into a work of art- even a purse or hat! Post it with your story on to your personal fundraising page.
Step 3- Share your story with friends and family and ask for them to “support” your Bodacious Bra creation via your personal fundraising page. The top three bras will be auctioned off at the Bodacious Bras for a Cause Brunch with a chance to win the coveted “Golden Brassiere” Award.

Our annual Bodacious Bras for a Cause Brunch is a wonderful occasion celebrating women and offering both charity and networking opportunities.
We kick-start Saturday at the JW Marriott with a Bloody Mary Mixer starting at 9:30am and the brunch beginning at 10:30am. The brunch will feature a live Bra-art auction – including one-of-a-kind artworks from local artists. Also included at the brunch is a seated-plate brunch, entertainment and Thriver Style Show by Stein Mart, featuring remarkable women who are not just living life, but THRIVING on their cancer journeys. For only $100 you can enjoy all the fun of which 100% of the proceeds are contributing to a noble cause.
